Coutts And Cranie Cut Loose

Hey Dad,

Blades just posted their "cut list", did you see it?

Paul Coutts, Martin Cranie, Conor Washington, Daniel Lafferty and Caolan Lavery will all leave Bramall Lane when their current deals expire this summer.
Couple of heart-breakers in there in Cranie and Coutts, but I guess you have to take the crunchy with the smooth. Both were going to struggle to make a Premier League line-up when they were fringe players in the Championship League.

The exodus of all existing "on loan" deals was also announced, but I guess that isn't all that surprising given that they can now only have two loan deals next year.

Meanwhile, Dean Henderson, Kieran Dowell, Scott Hogan, Gary Madine and Marvin Johnson will all return to their parent clubs following the completion of their loan deals.
Not sure Hogan and Madine have what it takes to play PL, but I think Dowell does, and Henderson will be playing PL next year no matter what. Hopefully with us.

Deano has to be either the first money we spend and get him permanently, or make him one of our two loan deals.

I also read a rumour that we were interested in Peruvian international right-back Luis Advincula.

Bit gutted about Cranie as I thought he was serviceable - maybe he will return; but logically, he isn't better than Bash, O'Connell, or Egan.

We were well represented by our local family.

Great video recap put together by Blades:

It's hard to believe that this year's ride is over, but its only the beginning of a new era.

The era of Premier League.

Scenes At Stoke

Hey Dad,

Bit of a bittersweet day away at Stoke today, wasn't it?

Seemed a bit anti-climactic with only getting the draw, and Norwich winning and taking the overall title.

Still, that "disappointment" was short-lived given all that has been accomplished.

Final standings still look great!

Plus, Blades away support was magnificent today.

There's great footage of the fans signing Egan's new song after the game:

Nothing can change that the Blades are going up.

Egan's New Song

Hey Dad,

Did you catch the little ditty that John Egan put together, and premiered to the world at the Annual Banquet?

Fantastic.

The lads are in full glory celebrating their promotion. Gaffer even called Leeds fans muppets today in his Sky Sports interview. Classic stuff.

Let him drink all the Peroni he can get down, I've never seen a coach anywhere, in any sport, that just gets the coaching situation he is in like Wilder does. Not only is he one of our own, he's categorically brilliant.

Peroni for you Pops! And...
